SUNBURY – A current Northumberland County Commissioner has announced she’s seeking re-election on the Democratic ticket. Minority Commissioner Kymberley Best announced Friday in a statement her candidacy for re-election. She says she has done her best to bring transparency, accountability and common sense to county government. She says she is deeply grateful for the support she’s received.
Best says the county faces challenges, including the new county prison putting pressure on its finances. She also says the outstanding lawsuit majority commissioners filed against Coal Township will need to be resolve sensibly. Best says there’s also great opportunities for the county, including with the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA). She also thinks proper development of the former Celotex site can drive economic growth.
