Lewisburg schools have received a $100,000 donation

LEWISBURG – The Lewisburg Area School District has received a $104,000 gift from the Green Dragon Foundation. The check presentation took place at Thursday’s school board meeting and the money will be primarily used to enhance the construction of the new high school.

The district is building a $33-million new high school and the funding from the foundation will be used to offset some of the building costs and to buy equipment. Specifically, Brooks Gronlund, the President of the foundation said, this and other gifts will enhance the auditorium, construct a recessed orchestra pit and fly loft system, and other upgrades in the school.

The foundation is a supporter of Lewisburg’s education, cultural and athletic programs. Gronlund said the foundation has contributed $47,000 to the school in the past year. Superintendant Dr. Mark DiRocco accepted the check from the foundation.
