LEWISBURG – An expensive project at Lewisburg Area School District’s Kelly Elementary School is set to begin this spring. Superintendent Dr. Steven Skalka tells us the floors in the school’s multi-purpose room and kitchen area are set be repaired, with limited construction beginning May 20.
Dr. Skalka says the school board reviewed bid documents for the project which is expected to cost nearly a million dollars. The board way vote to approve the bid documents at its next meeting January 24. Contracts can then be awarded March 14, and the board can vote to proceed with the project March 28.
The school’s floor damage affects 4,000 square-feet. School officials have said all students and staff are safe. Dr. Skalka says the project is expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2019-20 school year.
