What: UPMC Susquehanna’s Diabetes and Nutrition Care Center offers a five-session Diabetes Education Class throughout the year. Class participants receive a Living Well with Diabetes and Self Care workbook and a blood glucose meter.

Why: Diabetes is a chronic condition that requires many decisions to successfully manage blood sugar and prevent diabetes-related health problems. These decisions include what to eat, when to eat, when to take medicine, blood sugar checks, what to do for high/low blood sugars, and how to keep it all under control.

Who: Participants must obtain a referral to the class from their primary care physician.
