Lewisburg Arts Council – Lewistock
Jul 24 – Jul 30 all-day

The Lewisburg Arts Council is hosting a day-long music festival, Lewistock, on Saturday, August 24 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of both the Lewisburg Arts Council and of Woodstock! There will be more information coming soon, but for right now we would like to get a blurb out there about the availability of vendor spaces.

Our application deadine is August 12, so the sooner we can get information out to potential vendors, the better! This is a fundraiser for Friends of Music in the Park.

Music in The Park – July 24
Jul 24 @ 7:00 pm

The Lewisburg Arts Council is pleased to announce the seventh concert in the 23rdseason of the summer concert series Music in the Park – Brian Crane and Fred Krug! Brian and Fred will be performing familiar tunes with intricate harmonies with two voices and two guitars. You’ll hear Simon & Garfunkel, Everly Brothers, and originals. The men started singing together in high school, but took a 20-year break before joining up again recently. Locals will recognize Brian Crane from his law practice in Bloomsburg, or the music at Grove Presbyterian Church, or onstage with the Susquehanna Valley Chorale. Fred Krug lives in Connecticut, so it is a real treat to hear them together here!

In the event of rain the concert will be held at the Lewisburg Hotel at 136 Market Street. Rain information will be announced on the Arts Council’s Facebook page and on local radio.

In addition,–  this week only — the Samek Art Museum’s Downtown Gallery is hosting an opening party for its community exhibit “Show and Tell”. The party starts at 6pm in the gallery at 416 Market Street, with the Real Taste Taqueria food truck in the parking lot behind the gallery. So visit the opening party at 6:00, pick up your dinner, and bring it down to Hufnagle Park at 7:00 for the concert – a perfect evening!

The 2019 season of Lewisburg’s Music in the Park runs 12 weeks through August 28 – plus a bonus Saturday music festival, Lewistock, on August 24.  All Wednesday concerts will begin at 7:00 pm in Hufnagle Park (Market Street, between 5th and 6th Streets) in downtown Lewisburg and are free.
