Quilt show opens at Packwood House Museum
Jun 5 – Oct 5 all-day

More than 50 one-of-a-kind quilts – many never publicly viewed – are now on display at the Packwood House Museum. The 2019 show, Made in Union County, opened June 5 and continues through October 5. This exhibit features more than 50 hand-crafted quilts, ranging from small wall hangings to bed quilts, with many dating back to the second half of the 19th century.

“We are excited to share these beautiful and historic fiber arts from the Museum’s collection with the public,” said Christine Sperling, PhD., exhibit chair.  “Visitors from around the region are encouraged to come to the Packwood House Museum to view this outstanding display of regional craftsmanship.”

Included in the show is also a display of vintage clothing and artifacts from the museum’s collection.

Admission is $10 for a self-guided gallery tour of 30 quilts and an additional $5 for the guided once daily (at 1 pm) tour of the Packwood House which is filled with original furnishings and another 20+ quilts.

The Packwood House Museum, 15 N. Water St., Lewisburg is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm. For more information, last minute schedule changes, private events or to arrange a tour at a different time, go to packwoodhousemusuem.com or call 570-524-0323.
