FREE MODEL TRAIN DISPLAYS OPEN EVERY WEEKEND
Jul 20 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

The free Saturday Trains program, now in its fourteenth year at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church at the corner of Pine and East Market streets in Danville, Montour County, will be open as usual for everyone Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, with its new puffing steam engine and garden-size train running continuously on a 100-foot track hung from the ceiling. We’ve just added a 1931 blimp, the USS Macon, using a clock motor to fly around and around our Christmas tree. All of our other features and layouts are also there for children to enjoy, including our very realistic sound and light show of fiberoptic fireworks over our 22-foot-long O-Gauge model railroad display. The program is open on Saturday and every Saturday with dozens of trains, a model merry-go-round that children and adults can play with, a classic American Flyer layout, a new barrel loader, an elevating bascule bridge, a working model sawmill, and 30 push buttons that activate the exhibit’s operating attractions. More than 1,000 icicle lights decorate the display.

The non-profit Loose Ties Model Railroad Club shows its electric trains in a free display every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Silver Moon Flea Market on Route 15, two miles north of Lewisburg in Union County.
